For years now, The Emerald has sailed the seven seas under the Thomson banner. From old favourites like Spain and Italy to more unusual places like Cairo and the Crimea, this ships seen them all - taking over a quarter of a million people along for the ride. But now it is time to say goodbye. The Emerald is lagging behind in the eco-friendly stakes so this will be her last season. But we are sending her off with a bang - and you can join us onboard for a final farewell. So why has she been so popular all this time? One of the things that has brought people back year after year is the atmosphere. It is small enough to have a warm, friendly ambience, yet has enough room for a range of facilities. The staff make it all the more memorable, too. Lots of them have worked on the ship for years and the personal service you will receive is second to none. Last but not least, the ports she visits are a real talking point, too, from iconic cities to hideaway islands. This season, for instance, the ship will be setting sail for places like Venice, Sevastopol and Mykonos.
