The centre houses many orphaned Orang Utans that have been saved for a number of reasons, such as illegal hunting. The centre is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Sabah.
The Semenggok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre in Sarawak is also worth a visit. Like the centre in Sabah, this centre has many orphaned Orang Utans, which are looked after until they are ready to be released. Visitors can watch the Orang Utans during feeding time.
For those looking for a bit of culture and history, the Kanowit area is worth a visit. Located in Sarawak, this town has many interesting attractions, such as Fort Emma, which was built in 1859. The town centre has a variety of 1930s Chinese shop houses, which include a selection of coffee shops.
Kapit, a town that is also located in Sarawak, has a number of interesting attractions, including Fort Sylvia, which was constructed in the 1800s. The town also has a temple, called the Hock Leong Tieng Temple, and the Kapit Museum, which has a collection of arts and crafts.
You will not find yourself short of places to eat in Borneo, as there are a variety of restaurants located throughout the island in the towns, including in Sarawak and Sabah.
