Laem Chabang is located in the Chonburi Province. The population of the township is just over 61,000 people. Laem Chabang is home to the third largest port in Thailand and the 20th port in the world in terms of business in 2005. The port was finished in 1991and is a major hub for container ships. The port activities are the townships main source of economic wealth along with tourism. The port of Laem Chang also allows for the docking of cruise ships.

The climate in Laem Chabang is quite warm throughout the year. In the colder months it is possible to see temperatures as low as 68 degrees Fahrenheit. In the warmer months temperatures can soar above 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The Laem Chabang area experiences a number of rainy days each year. The months between December and March are the driest. The months between May and October are the rainiest with September and October seeing as many as 16 days of rain each month.

One popular activity that many tourists choose to participate in while visiting Laem Chabang is golf. The township offers multiple world class golf courses that tourists can choose from. One popular golf course was designed by famed golfer Jack Nicklaus and is called the Laem Chabang International Country Club.

Not too far from Laem Chabang is Bangkok. There are many magnificent things to explore in this large city and most will find that it is worth the excursion to visit. One thing visitors should check out in Bangkok is Wat Pho, which is also called The Temple of the Reclining Buddha. This temple features over a thousand images of Buddha. One of the images of Buddha is known as the Reclining Buddha which is15 metres high and 46 metres long. The entire body of the Reclining Buddha is plated with gold and features eyes made out of mother of pearl.

If you have the opportunity to visit Bangkok on the second Sunday of the month, head to the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. On this particular Sunday of each month the exclusive club allows the public inside to participate in its horse races. Visitors are allowed to bet on the horse races but the only option is to bet on the horse to win, not to place. Other features of the club such as squash and golf remain off limits to non-members on this Sunday.

Another spectacular tourist attraction is the Grand Palace which is located next to the Chao Phraya River. This was the home of the King of Thailand between the 18th and 20th centuries. The Grand Palace is made up of several buildings that have a very distinctive architectural style. Do not forget to stop by the Wat Phra Kaeo where the sacred Emerald Buddha is kept. Visitors will need to remember to wear appropriate attire if they wish to visit this historic site.

Transportation in both Laem Chabang and Bangkok should not be much of an issue. Taxis are readily available and Bangkok has an extensive Sky Train system that visitors will be able to take advantage of.
