Panama City on the Pacific coast is a fun and exciting place to go no matter what you like to do because it has everything! It has amazing natural sights such as beaches and national parks, and it also has many cultural and historical sites, which have been named as World Heritage Sites. The people are friendly and many speak English to help you get around. It is also very inexpensive compared to the costs of neighbouring countries.

In the older part of Panama City, which is normally referred to by one of three other names; Cascao Viejo, Casco Antiguo or San Felipe, you will find many architectural delights and historical sites. Las Bóvedas are the vaults which are waterfalls that fall into the Pacific. You can then go to the main Cathedral which is conveniently located in the Plaza de la Catedral, which is lovely to pass a moment in. The National Theatre is also popular especially since it has now been restored. If you are looking for some historical information regarding the canal you can visit the Museo del Canal Interoceánico, which has bilingual captions on all of the museum’s features.

Another beautiful place to check out is the presidential palace in Heron’s Palace or the Palacio de las Garzas. Here you will see real herons that hang out around the premises. There are numerous events happening regarding the Canal so a tourist centre will be opening up as well as various museums and a tour to the Culebra Island. If you have the chance you may want to see visit the Flamenco Island, which is right off of Panama City.

You should also take advantage of Panamas natural beauty by visiting one of its many national parks or beaches. The Parque Natural Metropolitano, or the Metropolitan Nature Park in English, is located along the famous Panama Canal. Here you may have the chance to see a variety of wild life such as alligators, tapirs, pumas and many types of birds. There is also a Marine Exhibition Centre which carries out many investigations regarding tropical marine life. Another national park that you can visit is the Parque Nacional Soberania which houses a zoo and a stunning botanical garden.

If you love Soccer, you should check out one of the soccer games by Panama’s professional soccer leagues. Some teams are the Tauro F.C, the CD Policía Nacional, the Plaza Amador, the Deportivo Italia and the Rio Abajo F.C.

The weather in Panama goes along with the rest of the tropical climates. It normally has a rainy season and a non rainy season. Either way it is normally very warm all year round. You do need to be careful of the sun as it gets very hot especially in the summer months around December through to February in particular.

Panama City has a lot to offer to the tourist within the city limits alone. It is definitely a great place to spend a vacation, whether you are looking for natural beauty, wildlife, history, cultural events or just looking to have a good time with good company.
