Cruises from Safaga

Safaga, a city in Egypt, is situated on the coast of the Red Sea and is popular amongst tourists. The city is not far from Mons Claudianus and Tobia Island, so it may be worth visiting these destinations during your stay in Safaga. There are a number of tourist villages in the area that specialise in diving holidays.

In Egypt, Red Sea Coast resorts like Safaga offer a generally pleasant climate during spring and autumn. Summers in Egypt are very hot, so special precautions must be taken to make sure that you protect yourself from the heat. During the summer months, you may wish to go swimming so that you feel refreshed and cool against the heat.

Safaga offers a selection of beautiful sandy beaches that are perfect for activities such as diving and kite surfing. If you love to soak up the sun, then you may wish to visit the black sand dune beaches, which is popular amongst sunbathers. Divers should take care, as Safaga is known for its hammerhead sharks and strong currents.

Safaga is mainly popular amongst tourists for its water sports. For those who enjoy windsurfing, Safaga has a couple of windsurfing centres that are worth visiting. The Tornada Safaga surfcentre is ideal for those who are looking to enjoy a water sports holiday. Located on the beach of the Holiday Inn resort, this centre offers courses, workshops, excursions and other activities that will make your holiday an enjoyable one.

If you feel daring and wish to try out some diving, then why not stop by one of Safaga’s many diving centres. The Barakuda Diving Centre offers many facilities such as all the snorkelling equipment you will need, underwater cameras, souvenirs, training facilities and much more. In addition, Divers International runs a total of seven diving centres on the shores of the Red Sea, and Mermaid Divers offers many facilities at affordable prices. If that’s not enough, you should stop by Duck’s Dive Centre, which offers early morning dives, shore diving, night dives, introductory dives and day trips.

If you are not a fan of diving, windsurfing or any type of water sports then do not worry, because Safaga has plenty of historic attractions for you to explore. One of the most popular is Mons Claudianus, where building materials such as Quartzy diorite were mined for the Roman Empire. Located around 30 miles from Port Safaga, Mons Claudianus is easy to reach by car and the ideal destination for a day trip. You can also take a look at the Roman camp where hot springs are located.

The nearby city of Luxor is also worth a visit. This city was originally the location of the ancient Egyptian city of Thebes, and there are many interesting museums in the area that are certainly worth visiting. It’s the perfect destination if you are interested in exploring Egypt’s history.

Safaga offers a selection of good hotels to suit everyone. There is the Holiday Inn Safaga Palace, which offers a wide range of facilities, and Mena Ville, which is located on the Red Sea and gives guests a great view of the area.

Safaga offers many places to eat. There is a selection of fish restaurants for those who love seafood, and for those who are looking for a different type of cuisine, there are restaurants such as the Al Fayrouz, which serves top quality international cuisine. For an interesting dining experience, try the Tobia Restaurant at the Three Corner Amira Hotel, which offers daily buffets as well as night theme buffets. The Garden room at the Lotus Bay beach resort also offers themed buffets.

Safaga does not have lots of shops, but you can visit Hurghada, which isn’t far away and which offers a selection of shops and evening entertainment.

If you are looking for a destination that offers lots of historical and cultural attractions, then Safaga may not be the most ideal holiday destination, but for fans of diving, windsurfing and other water sports, it will be paradise.
