With the wave season well under way, passengers are getting a good look at what they can expect to find during the 2010 sailing season. Among the many new trends in the cruise industry are sister ships, luxury, and more impressive entertainment options.

Cruise lines are also offering their passengers increased value.

Several cruise lines are anticipating the arrivals of their newest ships. Passengers will notice that several of these new cruise ships will look very similar to other ships that have been launched in recent years. Celebrity Cruises launched Celebrity Equinox in 2009 and is preparing to welcome her sister ship, Celebrity Eclipse in 2010. Other cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean International, Holland America, and P&O Cruises are all introducing sister ships later this year.

With so many new ships being introduced in 2010, passengers can expect to see the price of cruise fare to rise. Cruise lines point out that despite the price increase passengers are still getting more value for their money. New cruise ships provide many additional amenities to passengers.

Passengers can also expect more luxury in 2010. This can be easily seen in the river cruise industry. Several major lines have renovated their ships from top to bottom in an effort to attract more customers.

While entertainment is always a focus during a cruise, many companies are working hard to improve the options that are available to passengers. Cruise lines are now creating theme-based options, such as the Twilight Cruise, to capture more attention.
