Passengers spend more time on larger cruise ships

It has been revealed that larger cruises ships are encouraging passengers to spend more time on board.
With a wide selection of dinning options, entertainment, and shopping available on these ships, passengers have fewer reasons to leave the ship to explore the ports they visit during their cruise.
Building large ships is extremely costly for cruise lines. These cruise ships are also increasingly more expensive to operate. News that passengers are enjoying their stays on these ships is likely a relief to the companies operating them.
By spending more time on board the ships, passengers are also likely spending more money during their cruise. For passengers sailing on larger ships, taking advantage of cruise offers that include on board spending credits can be extremely beneficial.
Oasis of the Seas, operated by Royal Caribbean International, is the largest cruise ship in operation. The cruise line has reported that passengers do seem to spend more time on the ship during the course of their cruise.
Celebrity Cruises solstice class of ships are also among the largest in operation. The third addition to this class, Celebrity Eclipse, is set to debut in the UK later this year. It is expected that demand for this new ship will remain high, even though cruise fares are more expensive than on other ships.
With the size of cruise ships consistently increasing, there are concerns from passengers that it may be cumbersome to sail on these ships. These concerns are being eased as larger ships are steadily entering the market successfully.
