Ocean Village Gateways and Gondolas

First of all, let me say that I have cruised before but only with Cunard, so when my daughter suggested that I try Ocean Village with her I was concerned I would be disappointed. However, I was more than happy with OV and would highly recommend them! Ship itself - I thought it was excellent, and the staff were brilliant helping us on and off the tenders to shore, safety was paramount. The service was very good from all the staff across the ship, nothing was too much trouble! Cabin - Comfortable, clean - steward kept the cabin immaculately clean and good supply of tea, coffee and biscuits! Food - All buffet style in main dining, good selection, hot and something for everyone. Scrambled egg etc could be cooked to order for breakfast. We also tried the restaurant (small supplement) for dinner one night, very good value. Trips - Itinerary attracted us, Venice, Croatia, it had it all. We loved every moment of it and there was levels of activity to suit all, and very good value - gondola ride, Murano island and other sights all for £50 in one trip - great value! Entertainment This was the only disappointment and I did not feel it was appropriate for the age groups on board- they were doing a show that reselmbled pole dancing!! Not impressed and this let the tone of the overall cruise down. Overall I would recommend OV to all kinds of cruisers, from those on their first trip to seasoned cruisers. As long as you go and bear in mind it is not formal cruising, you will not be disappointed - be lead by the ports of call and you will have a ball!

Royal Caribbean - cruising at its best!

Myself and my husband booked this cruise on a whim almost, we had previously cruised with Princess for our honeymoon and wanted to try RCI, and this bargain cruise was a great taster of RCI. It would be a different experience as it was in an interior cabin and on a short hop across the channel to Amsterdam then Oslo, but we were not disappointed. The cabin We booked an interior cabin and it was great - spacious enough, clean and fairly modern (the ship is not the latest edition!) and the bed was very comfortable. Only complaint was it was a bit dark compared to the mini-suite we had before (we of course it would be being indoors!) but it was absolutely fine for a short cruise. The ship in general Vision is not the largest but it is well equipped with a lovely dining room and public areas including champagne bar, library and great theatre. It also has a rocking climbing wall and other features associated with RCI. Everywhere was very clean and well maintained. The food We dined in both the Windjammer Cafe and the main dining room. My husband felt the food was better than Princess although I thought that they were comparable. I really liked the free tea and coffee which was available throughout the day seemingly, and it was always hot and of decent quality! Much better than Princess and its inferior coffee :) The staff were lovely and really liked the piano playing in the dining room, made us feel very cruise like! Entertainment Of an excellent quality with different acts every night - and of a very high standard, the singers and dancers were amazing! Theatre very large and we always managed (just) to get a seat. Ports of call We docked centrally in Amsterdam and as we were overnight, there was no curfew. Very organised and easy to get off and on where we wanted. Very safe too! Oslo was a bit disappointing although this was more to do with the weather than anything else. Overall opinion We both really enjoyed cruising with Royal Caribbean and thought that they were great value- although disapproved of them charging 15% on top of all drinks, although to be expected as US company. Thought the food and entertainment were incredible, ship very comfortable, clean and welcoming. We cannot wait to cruise with them again!

Awesome cruise to America

We had a wonderful time, the crew were all so friendly, the food was fab, the rooms were of the highest standards in cleanliness and all round presentation. The children were catered for perfectly and we are in the process of booking another cruise for this year! Thanks for all of your impartial information and advice Best Cruise Deal!
